About
I'm a Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where I spend my days dealing with the more mundane challenges of software engineering. I'd like to think I bring a disciplined mindset to my work, always looking for principled approaches to managing complexity.
Outside of work, I'm driven by a desire to understand how systems (technical, economic, or social) can be improved. I love reading about economics, philosophy, urban planning, software design, and more with favorites like Antifragile, An Introduction to General Systems Thinking, and Designing Data-Intensive Applications shaping how I think about building better futures. My goal for this site is to write for a younger version of myself: someone hungry to think more deeply and analytically about the world. I want to share the mental frameworks and reasoned approaches I wish I'd encountered earlier, while documenting the ways my own thinking has evolved.
When I'm not writing or coding, you'll find me with my miniature schnauzer, Bentley, working on home repairs, or spending time with my fiancée.
